There are several opportunities to earn awards in Open Projects on jovoto. Ideas submitted are eligible for awards chosen by the client and/or project jury, and the creative community. As we don’t only reward great ideas, but a supportive community, you can also earn a Collaboration Award for example.
Besides the monetary awards, there are sometimes "money-can’t-buy awards" to be earned - like opportunities to present your idea to the client, highlighting you on our blog and on our & the client's social media channel etc.
Community Awards are determined based on the community's ratings - you, the community, decide.
Community Awards: In Open Projects you have the opportunity to be a Community Award winner.
The total amount of Community Award money is distributed among the project’s top-ranked ideas. The number of awards varies from project to project but is always determined by the ratings of your fellow community members.
Client Awards are determined by the client or a jury of client representatives and external experts. These individuals are listed on the brief page.
Client Choice Award: This award is given to the submission that the client licenses at the end of a project. It generally takes longer to determine this award because clients take their decisions seriously and sometimes have to go through internal voting processes. Clients have an exclusivity period (usually 3-6 months) in which they have time to decide.
Client Shortlist Award: These awards are offered to one or more submissions that did not receive a license, but are recognized by the client.
Jury Award: A Jury Award is determined by the project jury. The jury, as well as the awards, vary from project to project and details are specified in the briefing.
Halftime Award: After the midpoint of the project (Halftime), the client reviews ideas submitted before the Halftime Deadline. Of these ideas, they award one or more submissions with a Halftime Award. This award is announced beneath the brief a day or two after the Halftime Deadline.
Achievement Awards showcase your outstanding collaboration and feedback on jovoto. You can earn these simply by engaging with the community! Awardees are determined based on internal algorithms and are approved by the jovoto team. The two achievements you can earn are:
Collaboration Award: The Collaboration Award goes to a team of two or more creatives who collaborate on an idea by sending an invitation to your potential collaborator on the Collaborators page on the Submit idea page. The collaborative ideas in the project will be reviewed by the Creative Guide and the Project Team in order to give out the Collaboration Awards. Collaboration Awards are meant to encourage team work and new participation that spreads the wealth and reward those who work together living the 1+1=3 philosophy. If you don't earn one this time, your team might be the next! Read about the payment for this award here.

In the event that no collaborative ideas are submitted in a project, the specified prize money will be added to the Community Award pool and distributed to top-ranked ideas.

Feedback Award: The ability to give and receive feedback is an important component of jovoto’s success. The Feedback Award goes to the person who does an outstanding job of helping other creatives improve their ideas. We pick the winner by looking at the top 5 community members with the most ^Helpful up votes in a specific project. Then the Creative Guide selects the feedback giver with the most relevant comments. We do so to ensure diversity among the winners, and to make sure that the numbers of upvotes fit the feedback. Read more about it here and learn more about giving constructive feedback here.
