All jovoto creatives can apply to have their creative skills assessed and verified by a design field expert. Creatives with verified creative skills are considered for relevant Invite projects with guaranteed payments.
We will review your external work or jovoto ideas and let you know if you receive the verified status.
Our design field experts are asked to consider how creative, innovative and unique your ideas are and also at the amount of experience you have.
Per creative skill, the assessor gives a rating on a scale from 1 (basic) to 5 (excellent). A rating of 3 and above means the creative skill is verified.
Verified creative skills will be shown on your profile with a tick symbol in the corner of your expert skill.
If you are not accepted initially, you are encouraged to develop and hone your skills - and participate in any relevant Open Projects - and then reapply a few months later.
WHICH CREATIVE SKILLS CAN BE VERIFIED?
The creative skills in black are commonly required in jovoto projects and will be assessed regularly - you can expect to get a response within two weeks of applying.
The creative skills in grey are not commonly required in jovoto projects and will not be assessed regularly. If a project comes up that requires one of these skills, we will then review applications.
MARKETING & ADVERTISING
Communication Concept - Combination of the ability to come up with creative and innovative concepts for marketing and/or advertising campaigns AND the ability to realize an attractive and appealing mock-up/final draft of the concept.
Photography - Ability to stage and/or take good photos - with a focus on stock photography style for marketing and advertising campaigns.
Copywriting English - Ability to write text in English for the purpose of advertising or marketing. Copy aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action.
Copywriting German - Ability to write text in German for the purpose of advertising or marketing. Copy aims to increase brand awareness and ultimately persuade a person or group to take a particular action.
SERVICE DESIGN & INNOVATION
Service Design - Ability to brainstorm, ideate and prototype service design solutions, looking to improve the interaction between the service provider and users. Service design may function as a way to inform changes to an existing service or create a new service entirely.
Service Design Visualisation - Ability to visually illustrate a service design solution - making it sexy.
User Research - Ability to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and other feedback methodologies.
User Experience Design (UX) - Ability to design (digital or non-digital) products, systems and/or services that enhance users' experiences, considering aspects of user journey, function, usability, efficiency, branding and visual elements.
DIGITAL PRODUCT DESIGN
User Interface Design (UI) - Ability to design user interfaces (all the visual elements) that enable a user to interact with computers, digital devices and software, with a focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.
Web Design - Ability to design user interfaces (all the visual elements) that enable a user to interact with a website, with a focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.
App Design - Ability to design user interfaces (all the visual elements) that enable a user to interact with a mobile application, with a focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.
Graphic Design - Ability to create and combine symbols, images and text layouts to form visual representations of ideas and messages - using typography, visual arts and layout techniques to create visual compositions.
Layout Design - Ability to create strong layouts - combining text, images and other elements in clever compositions and interesting juxtapositions. (ie Poster-Ads, Magazine Editorials, etc).
Typography - Ability to create unique typefaces and/or put together unique and appealing typography heavy compositions - playing with typeface selection, point sizes, line-spacing and kerning.
Graphic Design for Packaging - Ability to create 2D designs for packaging i.e. for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods or Limited Editions.
Corporate Identity - Ability to design a set of elements to communicate a brand visually, including, but not limited to, company logo, fonts and/or colour palettes as well as wayfinding and décor.
Logo Design - Ability to create unique and striking designs for brand logos.
Illustration - Ability to create compelling, hand-drawn and/or digital illustrations to be used for decorative or marketing purposes, or as an interpretation or visual explanation of a text, concept or process.
Surface Pattern Design - Ability to design motifs and/or pattern repeats to be applied to a surface to enhance its visual appearance and/or functionality.
Textile Design - Ability to design motifs and/or pattern repeats for woven, knitted or printed fabrics or surface ornamented fabrics - for fashion and/or interiors.
Product Design - Ability to generate and develop ideas for new products or adaptations and additions for existing products - considering function, shape, size, color, styling, etc.
Product 3D Rendering - Ability to utilise computer graphics programs to create 3D rendered images of product designs - include photorealistic effects or non-photorealistic rendering.
Product Design Sketching - Ability to create sketches - either by hand or digitally - of product ideas that successfully communicate the intended design concept.
Product Design for Packaging - Ability to generate and develop ideas for new packaging solutions or adaptations and additions for existing packaging solutions - considering function, shape, size, color, styling, etc.
Furniture Design - Ability to generate and develop ideas for new furniture products or adaptations and additions for existing furniture products - considering function, shape, size, color, styling, etc.
ARCHITECTURE & INTERIORS
Architecture - Ability to design buildings and other structures.
Spatial Design - Ability to design for places and spaces utilising a mix of skills from the fields of architecture, landscape design, interior design, service design and public art.
Interior Design - Ability to design for interior spaces to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space.
Film - Ability to concept for and/or shoot and/or edit and/or post produce film footage
Storyboarding - Ability to concept for and prepare a graphic representation of how a video, film or animation will unfold, shot by shot.
Animation - Ability to create hand-drawn or computer-generated imagery and then to animate this imagery to appear as moving images.
