How can I get my skills verified?
Anyone signed up on jovoto can apply to have their creative skills assessed and verified by our design field experts. jovoto creatives with verified creative skills are automatically considered for relevant Invite Projects with guaranteed payments.
To get verified status, you need to upload at least 3 portfolio items to your jovoto profile that showcase the creative skill that you would like to get verified - be sure to tag the portfolio item with relevant skills and select “Assess my skill/s” at the bottom of the form. Portfolio items cannot be edited once uploaded, so take your time to make sure you include all the relevant information - but should you need to change something please contact us in support.
Once you have at least three portfolio items tagged with one of our platform's verifiable creative skills you will be eligible for review.
Don’t have work you can share publicly? - no problem! - You can choose to not make portfolio items public and they will only be visible to the jovoto team.
Our design field experts will review your portfolio items individually and we ask them to consider how creative, innovative and unique your work is and the level of expertise that the work shows in the particular area. The design field experts will give each portfolio item a rating from 1 (basic) to 5 (excellent). The rating will only be visible to the jovoto team, but you will be informed that the item has been reviewed.
The orange square with the clock symbol means that you are in the queue to be verified for this skill. This is seen on your profile.
Verified status approved
The ratings of the assessors will be translated into a Creative Skill Score by the jovoto team - also on a scale from 1 (basic) to 5 (excellent). If you receive a score of 3 or above your creative skill is “verified” and you will receive a notification. Verified creative skills will be shown on your profile with a tick symbol in the corner of your skill and you will automatically be eligible to participate in Invite Projects that require your verified Creative Skills.
The black square with the checkmark symbol means that this skill has been verified. This is seen on your profile.
Verified status denied
If you do not receive verified status on the first attempt (a Creative Skill Score of 1 or 2) you will also receive a notification. If this is the case, you are encouraged to develop and hone your skills more - and participate in any relevant Open Projects. After three months, you can reapply for assessment by uploading a further 3 portfolio items to your profile.
We review portfolio items tagged with our core Creative Skills regularly, other items will only be reviewed when a relevant project is coming up. See the full list of our verifiable creative skills and whether they are reviewed regularly or not below.
Which creative skills can be verified?
The creative skills in blue are commonly required in jovoto projects and will be assessed regularly.
