What is "good rating behaviour"?

Good rating behaviour amounts to:

  • rating as many ideas as fair and objective as possible
  • using the whole rating scale from 1 to 10 stars (rating 15 ideas with 3 stars is "not differentiated")
  • respecting jovoto's "definitions" for the ratings stars

  • understanding that it's important to leave aside personal taste and judge an idea based on

the main Rating Criteria Principles:

  • innovativeness

  • creativity

  • on-briefness

  • technical skills (applied by the author)

  • presentation

You can give 1 or 2 stars if all of these criteria are NOT met - because then the idea should really be trashed.

By the way, because we want fair rating we also introduced a Karma treshold of 150 Karma points for new community members - only after a new community member has collected 50 Karma points his/her rating status is activated. This protects the platform from manipulation efforts and creates an understanding for the importance of fair rating. Karma does it better!
